In the WW II, the US also treated the Italians in a similiar way they did to the Janpanese, not sure about the Germeny though.
PBS has a documentary about this just yesterday. In 1999, Clinton signed a doc to compensate for those people.
If a nation has done something wrong to its citizen, they should try to correct it by proper compensation. Justice coming later, is better than none.
